20/06/2018 Haringey Council within the last 6 months have constructed a much needed cycle lane on Marksfield road. However at the north end, when turning off broad lane, the builders created a tapering start of the cycle lane but there is a considerable step up to the pavement level. This should be a small slope so cyclists can mount the new separate cycle lane safely. This has been like this for some time, which is a shame because it makes the cycle lane kind of pointless as you can’t safely get on or off it without using the very narrow pedestrian path next to it. Please sort this out as so many commuters (myself included) use this road daily and it’s a busy road with many heavy goods vehicles. In addition, at the south end of the road before going under the bridge to the park, the pavement has been tapered to be closer to the height of the road. However here there is still a step of an inch or two, which is still quite dangerous when cycling and should really be flushwithe the road level for safety. This might seem a bit pedantic but it is actually more dangerous as it is quite subtle. Just this morning I had a bad fall when I was trying to go on to the pavement on my bike, as the front wheel caught the edge of the pavement, skidded, and tossed me sideways onto the road. I have injuries on my leg arm and elbow as a result. If Haringey are going to build cycle lanes they should be fully functional otherwise it is unsafe for the cyclists using them.
